ABOUT US!

Founded in 2022, Cinema Girl Productions™ began as a creative hub for filmmakers/co-directors Alexandra LoCascio and Rebecca Rutledge to brand and market their filmography and create a name for the filmmaking duo.
Starting their filmmaking journey in 2019, Alex and Becca connected through their shared love for film and art in California State University Fullerton’s Cinema and Television Arts Major freshman dorms. The two realized their complimentary way of creating led them to effortlessly collaborate and create stories together. Starting their filmmaking journey together in 2021, they wrote their first short film, “SONDER” (2022). From then the duo continued to create, venturing into photoshoots, music videos, short films, and comedy sketches.
Cinema Girl Productions has quickly become a home for many Female identifying filmmakers, as well as BIPOC and LGBTQIA creatives. Women are the center of our projects as well as the majority behind the scenes. We aim to give opportunities to women in film seeking community, in hopes of creating more quality projects made by, and made for, Cinema Girls.
CINEMA GIRL SKetches™

Launched in 2024 as a branch of Cinema Girl Productions, Cinema Girl Sketches was created as a space dedicated to comedy sketches and short-form content. We teamed up with our close friend, collaborator, and actress Antoinette Michela, who now leads the creative vision as our Head of Cinema Girl Sketches. Together, the three of us write, direct, produce, and perform in each sketch, often working alongside fellow filmmakers to bring these projects to life on minimal budgets.
Cinema Girl Sketches is our way of exploring a new storytelling format and diving into the world of short-form content, aiming to release smaller projects more regularly. Comedy has always played a part in our work, so stepping fully into this genre felt like a natural evolution— a way to sharpen our creative skills, expand our portfolio, and most importantly, have fun while doing it.
